Abstract:Successful migration to service oriented architect (SOA) requires complex changes in culture, technology, organization, and budget. This session will define SOA, explain the benefits, give example use cases, and compare SOA to data-based solutions. We will cover governance, security, and policy issues along with organizational changes that must occur.

The panelists will describe several capture-and-dissemination approaches, highlighting issues regarding intellectual property, accessibility, and systems integration. They will also reflect on how media projects catalyze campus technology discussions.
