Abstract:CyberCIEGE enhances cybersecurity education and training through an extensible resource management video game similar to SimCity and RollerCoaster Tycoon. In the CyberCIEGE virtual world, players spend virtual money to operate and defend their networks and watch the consequences of their choices on user productivity when their networks are under attack.

Abstract:Training for information privacy and security is essential in higher education environments not only due to legal and statutory requirements but also as a method of risk reduction. As more institutions move toward mandatory training based on assigned roles and responsibilities, we can achieve better economies of scale through Web-based training and interinstitutional collaborations. This seminar will explore training models, methods, and opportunities drawn from conversations, research, and benchmarking efforts.
