The path to a career in information security is often varied, and the roles an individual must perform often require an uncommon skill set. Whether the information security program is carried out by a team or an individual, the program must attend to administrative, physical, and technical safeguards that require a broad range of knowledge and skill.

Abstract:Robust confidentiality statements and training are required to protect the financial and business assets of our institutions and the privacy of faculty, staff, and student personnel information, as well as safeguard student records. Creating appropriate statements and training presents both challenges and opportunities in the constantly changing legal environments that we all confront.
