Catherine Howell

Dr. Catherine Howell is an Educational Designer based at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Her professional interests include: effective pedagogies for learning and teaching with technology, evaluation, learning design, usability and the user experience, reflective practice, peer-to-peer and collaborative learning, Digital Humanities, and innovative research methodologies. From 2004 - 2008, Catherine was based at the Centre for Applied Research in Educational Technologies at the University of Cambridge (UK), where she was involved in diverse institutional and externally-funded projects, including the Learning Landscape Project. She holds an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in French Literature from the University of Cambridge, an M.A. in English from the University of Queensland (Australia), and a B.A. from the University of Adelaide (Australia). Catherine is a member of the Society for French Studies, and a participant in EPAC (Electronic Portfolio Action & Communication International).
