Neither one of us has a lot of programming experience. Active Worlds may be a viable option for our development and testing of the idea. Christie Liu: Effective collaborative learning comes with joined approaches: classroom, paper-based, computer-based, but needs to be well designed and implemented.Christie Liu: When David discussed his cases, he used video conferencing, as an example. Jill D. Mullaney: And I think we need to remember not to place form before function. We should use these tools as a way of furthering our educational goals. From "Your Campus Discussion" during Day 1, Break 3. Salve_Regina: We are in the midst of a laptop initiative. Our faculty don't really know how to use the laptops effectively for teaching. The short lecture--mini mission--debriefing idea is very applicable.Robin : We are looking at virtual worlds for distance learning classes.Robin : So far mainly SL, but also following Croquet very closely.
