Student Success Analytics Practitioners

icon for analyticsThe Student Success Analytics (SSA) Practitioners Community Group (CG) was created as a forum for people from educational institutions, organizations, and providers serving them who are actively planning or implementing analytics initiative aimed at improving student success.

The goal of the CG is to create a network of practitioners to share stories and results so that we can benefit from each others’ experiences. While there are no requirements for membership, the focus of this CG is on initiatives and findings that have broad applicability and promise to scale. The SSA CG looks to highlight initiatives that can transform education through aggregation, analysis, and application of data in educational environments. We expect to highlight diverse analytic approaches such as: predictive and prescriptive modeling, in addition to machine learning, artificial intelligence and other applications of data analysis.

Finally, the initiatives we discuss should be focused on student success at some point in the student’s higher ed lifecycle (teaching & learning, enrollment, program retention, academic advising, career placement, or student support). While analytics approaches to research, institutional success, or other non-student areas are beneficial, this group is focused on areas that more directly improve the learning experience of students in education.
The more we can collaborate and share on these efforts, the easier it is for these initiatives to grow and succeed. Please also visit the LinkedIn tag #EducauseSSACG for additional collaboration.
