Susan, was your Crayon rep able to say why there has been a change? Is it temporary issue or a policy change by SPSS to be direct with SPSS only? Marg(aret) Knox mknox@utsystem.edu Executive Director 512-322-3774 Office of the CIO Univ of Texas System Building The University of Texas System, ...

Mark, Thanks for the update, distressing though it is. IBM attorneys long ago got over being a barrier to business, so I am surprised that SPSS has gone this route. Oh dear. Marg(aret) Knox mknox@utsystem.edu Executive Director 512-322-3774 Office of the CIO Univ of Texas System Building The ...

Thank you Mike! That makes sense to me as that was also how it worked for on premise Microsoft site licensing using the formula Houston, was your true up that you mentioned at the annual time for your ETLA (I think ETLAs are three years long but likely annual POs?) To one of Houston's point, Microsoft does not use the formula for its cloud services that I am aware of; for example, for A5, it is everyone who has an account. But where it was used (on premise mostly) that formula needed true-up only on an annual or other basis, not when you went over the count ...

I have been asked by a University how the ETLA calculation is done. It looks just like the old Microsoft formulation of faculty FTE= full-time + 1/3part-time, staff FTE= full=time +1/2 part-time. And student FTE = full-time + 1/3rd part-time. I was asked if the Adobe staff FTE is knowledge worker ...

One thing we did long ago (and for different reasons) is to have a underlying agreement with IBM that has all of our necessary terms; then we reference it when we order something from IBM. I THINK we use it even with SPSS orders. We do keep that underlying agreement up to date as best we can especially ...

Honestly, I was surprised this did not come up earlier when Microsoft made the change as I felt it reduce the value of what we had licensed. And while the articles I give below do not mention SQL server, my memory is there is a similar problem. Now let me note, this is an article and not an announcement ...

Oracle did change how the licensing is handled about then. I would point you to the archives, but they are now gone. Be careful of course. If you are a member of Gartner, they had a pretty good paper on this matter. Worth the time for you to read. Here is the title: Evaluate Your Options Now to ...

I was out last week but reached out to Adobe Sign VP David Pearlman yesterday. His colleage, below, immediately got back to me on the actual issue. Please comment if this hits the target or if you need more clarification. I also asked David to consider if Adobe should have, as Microsoft does, a 7x25 ...
