As such, I have used a variety of video editing tools with students and university staff over the years, and my latest favorite is WeVideo https://www.wevideo.com/education/higher-ed I've found WeVideo ...

Dear colleagues, We're in the process of deprecating our CampusPack integration with Blackboard (Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, Portfolios) as it hasn't been updated since the company was sold to Cengage in 2015 and it is not LTI 1.3 compliant, among other things. Several of our faculty and students have ...

Hi Helen, I used CATME for my students to peer evaluate my Video Production course at Roanoke College, but that was when it was a free resource. I will say the tool was invaluable in gathering peer assessments at the time, but I didn't have ready access to other peer assessment tools. I would say ...

Dear Colleagues, One other source for ID/Ed Tech standards and metrics that I have found invaluable are those through the UPCEA. One nice recent publication are their "Hallmarks of Excellence" paper, which serves as a very nice guidepost for thinking through effectiveness of services> The link to ...

Here is a model that I came up with using ITIL as a template for a generic ID department in a higher ed setting. It may be of use for brainstorming ideas on how one might approach maturity of services Maturity Level Description Focus Level 1 – Initial Stage ...

Hi Ricardo, I have to echo what others have said. I managed a college library circulation program for iPads and Macbooks and Jamf Pro is definitely the way to go for MDM on the iPads and MacBooks. With Jamf you can set up profiles and manage software license keys for an entire fleet of iOS and MacOS ...

Hi Chris, Great questions! As most institutions define student success as "student retention" it sometimes helps to take a step back from the data to figure out what is actually measurable that is actively being measured vs. what isn't currently being measured/captured in the current data silos. We're ...

Hi Dan, The trouble with IT and AV cost estimation is one size won't fit all. You would literally need cost estimates for each space in a renovation project. AV costs can be more difficult to estimate than IT costs as building boardrooms or auditoriums are exponentially higher in cost than say a huddlespace. ...

Hi Adebisi, You should toss this question out to the CIO listserv, but I'll be happy to respond with what I know as an IT veteran. As you know Institutional IT budgets are closely held and ever changing. I've worked at institutions where total IT expenditures were 5%, 3.5% and 7% of the institutional ...

Hi Laura, Best wishes to you as you migrate from one LMS to another - it is certainly always a heavy lift for admins and faculty! I've been through two LMS conversions over the past 15 years and you are certainly on the right track with the points you mention. In my experience there are pain points ...

Hi Ken, I have a few TLDR observations for you, and I believe your observations about studio use are legitimate. (As a bit of background I've worn a lot of different hats in EdTech/Media for 30 years and have taught video production on and off for 20 of those years.) That said I'm more on the ID side ...
