Hello All, I noticed a couple earlier threads on Microsoft Purview and Sensitivity Labels so this seems a good forum to post to. Background: We are small University with around 3000 students and 700 Faculty and Staff. Last year we acquired A5 licensing and all that it entails for our active users. This ...

Question For the IAM Forum: How do you deal with inactive or otherwise un-used O365 Groups and Teams in O365? We have a lot of long inactive Teams and Groups in O365 - Primarily created by Students who have since graduated, Adjunct Faculty who are no longer here and the like. We are not as mature in ...

Thanks Janet, I was unaware of the affiliate object worker type in workday. Penn is way ahead of us with workday of course. We do not have SailPoint to help automate our account management. That would be amazing. I'd be interested to hear how that goes for University of Pennsylvania. Best of luck ...

Thank You Mark, This is great information. I'd like to introduce the concept of sponsored accounts to our management. My understanding is that that these contingent workers (adjuncts) will be going into Workday. This is as it should be so we have control over the lifespan of accounts that is driven ...

Thanks Mark, Drawing on HR data is the ideal situation. This works well for us for non-adjunct faculty and regular workers as a termination business process in Workday will automatically disable the account. We would like our Adjunct faculty to be in Workday. They currently are not and our new HR ...

Yes, we are an AD shop. The issues you just mentioned are some of the key motivators for better account maintenance. Another concern is social engineering. Having a base of accounts where the primary gatekeeper for re-activation may be the human element, it is unlikely but not impossible that a former ...

I would be grateful to hear from other .edu's to learn how you address the following scenario: I have a large number of inactive accounts in our AD domain. Most of these are disabled and belong to Adjunct Faculty. In many cases these have been disabled for years. On occasion, a request is received ...

Hi Nathaniel, Thanks very much for your reply. I'd be very interested in learning more about your experience of moving away from on-prem VDI to Apporto and how it's being used at Emory. Would you possibly be able to spare 20 minutes to meet via Zoom myself and possibly some members of my team in the ...

Hello Educause CIO Community, I'm looking for another edu who may be able to share valuable experience regarding ditching On-Prem virtual desktops for one of the available cloud VDI solutions. I'm hearing a lot of positive endorsement for Apporto. Some back story on our institution- We entered into ...
