Hi Kevin, I might be stating the obvious here, but I wanted to point out that the discrepancy in results doesn't really indicate that Ally isn't fully checking or isn't checking as well as Acrobat, etc. If a document is not tagged, critical information for assistive tech is missing. Ally just reports ...

We experienced the same variable results when trying to convert LaTeX to PDF via various accessibility packages. Converting from LaTeX to HTML via Pandoc and invoking mathjax works as does using a program like the MathPix snipping tool to convert to MathML (for use in an LMS or even the MS word math ...

I have no idea if this is actually the issue, but it might (??) have to do with how it was recorded. A couple of years ago, we experienced problems that depended on whether people recorded with any of the various newer recording options or the old insert>audio>record audio option. Those used to produce ...

Apologies – I was clearing emails from the wrong direction and hadn't yet noticed the replies from Brian, Doug, and Darrin. It sounds like MathCAT is the way to go and I'll be checking it out soon. Thank you all for the updated information. Don Massie University of Nevada, Reno Office of Digital ...

Hi Sharon, Here's the URL where I saw that (about half way down the page in bold type): https://info.wiris.com/mathplayer-info. The page also has a 2022 copyright, but it doesn't list a version for MathPlayer. The page you found seems valid and I know that I had to install MathPlayer to get math to ...

I was able to get NVDA reading properly again and now have additional options. I had read that MathPlayer was no longer being developed and figured it was obsolete. The source of the problem was that I had forgotten I removed the add-in at some point after I had last tested - it still works. Thank ...

Hi Tania, Thank you for the reply. No, I do not, but will give it a go to see if it helps. I just read about it, and it sounds like it expands the options quite a bit. That said, it seems like NVDA should still read the math without this too. I wonder if NVDA dropped mathplayer (from what I read it's ...

I'm not a very seasoned NVDA user, but was having success getting it to read LaTeX content entered via the equation editor in Canvas when using Firefox (when entered via "Directly Edit LaTeX" mode). I have the most recent browser/NVDA versions... Sometime recently, it seemed to have stopped working. ...

I don't know of any offhand, but admittedly haven't looked in a while either. I'd recommend learning how to remediate with Acrobat (LinkedIn Learning has good resources for that) since you'll probably have to use that or another tool to do any actual "fixing" anyway. I use PAC 3 after Acrobat. The manual ...

Hi Doug(s), Yes, it's a great tool. I use it when I get unusual errors that are hard to identify with Acrobat's checker or for when I want an additional assessment for accessibility or PDF/UA conformance. There's a bit of a learning curve and I've found it works great in tandem with the Tagged PDF site. ...

Hi Elizabeth, Can you share some more about the settings/print options? I tried saving a generic table in Excel to PDF (Save As >PDF) in a couple of ways and only got the span tags around the entire outside border if I had defined the table as a table in Excel before exporting (not individual grid lines). ...
