I would also be interested in the kind of data being collected on this and in what ways the data is being collected. Our LMS (Sakai) provides the standard log data in some pretty charts and tables, but we have also polled from the existing set of user data to get a feel for how regularly faculty are ...

Michael, Thank you for your feedback. We are looking to investigate some vendors, beginning with Blackbelt - which looks to provide the same set of services and a bit more for likely a bit more $$. We used to do this in house, but the cost structure of providing around the clock services with an institution ...

Tes, thank our for your reply. We are actually in the same exact boat - Embanet is disappearing. Interestingly we received an email almost 5 days following asking if we were interested in such a service by a competing company. We have mostly seen the need to have the service to provide just in time support ...

We've recently received notice that our current outsourced 24x7 HelpDesk provider is ending their contract – mid-contract. We have already budgeted for their services but those services will need to be replaced with something similar. Such a service provides limited tech support - no on-site support ...

To the Experts in the room: For institutions that offer online courses - particularly at the undergraduate level, how do you handle enrollment verification? Johnson University offers nearly 99% of it's courses in a 7 week format - allowing us to provide 6 'sessions' each year (2 fall, 2 spring and ...

Nathan, we do these all the time. We poll faculty 4-6 months ahead of the coming term and provide it as an opt in option. We only merge e sections requested or designated by the registrar. It pairs with our ERP/SIS and LMS. Dave E.

Chaz and Rob – I can't disclose exactly what we pay, but we have less of an issue with our storage and more with keeping tabs on our bandwidth. We're a school of almost 2000 students in all our offerings, and we have a 2.25 TB storage cap and a 21 TB bandwidith cap (fees for overage exist), but our cost ...

While I know this is a conversation around YuJa, I'll throw Warpwire into the ring. It provides great integration with our LMS – but also works well with Canvas, Moodle, and D2L, as well as Drupal. We've been using it for about 5 years now, and it provides data analytics, view stats pass back to our ...

Krissy, I would advise making sure you look at the whole picture of an evaluation. Several institutions forget to poll their students and take the into account the undertaking of making such a change. Some third party vendors exist to 'transfer' or 'convert' currently held courses – even in Moodle ...

Dana, We do have an instructor certification course, but that is only needed for anyone new to our institution's online teaching. Only instructors who have not taught online for us take the course – even F2F instructors who have taught for years. We also have a course development guide, which is ...

Mark, Our setup is much like Empire's, though we do not have nearly as many programs. Our SMEs are often faculty or adjunct faculty and we often prefer for them to teach the course the first time around – to help inform areas of refinement for the second time the course is offered. DAVID ...

A team of 3 designers with various levels of experience, support 8 divisions within a school of roughly 1300 students and related faculty, from undergraduate to PhD. Our ID's also support ...
