Thanks Ken, I missed that announcement. This is exactly what we need (and yes, clearly needs to be managed carefully). Much obliged! Ben

So like many of you, We're deeply appreciative of Gmail's inline warnings about suspicious and/or dangerous messages, however, as Workspace admins we do need to communicate to our users about upcoming account closures and deletions. At Reed we're still in the midst of a lengthy process of deleting accounts ...

We're in the same situation (using Shib+Duo). Super admin of course are already exempt from SSO (and hence use Google passwords + Google 2fa). I wonder if this means that lower level admins will also be treated the same way, kind of sounds like it. Would be good to confirm though! Ben -- Ben PoliakoffAssociate ...

In answer to your two questions directed at me: We started moving suspended accounts into a suspended OU with a zero megabyte quota a month or two ago, with a gam script that runs daily, via cron. So it's in production now, but it's still kind of new for us. The reports are also a new thing for us, ...

We've started automatically moving suspended accounts into a suspended OU where the default storage quota is zero megabytes. The main reason we've been doing this is because files shared from accounts in the suspended OU end up effectively being read-only. When a user accesses a file to which they might ...

Reed College has used eLumin to develop and maintain a "virtual computer lab". We did this at the beginning of the pandemic, as our students needed access to licensed software, that they'd previously accessed in person in our labs. The company has been great to work with, they know the AWS offerings ...

Okay okay okay... Eventually a warning banner is displayed, it just took a few hours for it to show up. Apologies for the noise! /shrug Attaching a screenshot that will probably get removed by the forum software: Bashfully yours, Ben

Has anyone found any info about banners or warnings for quotas on shared drives? In my experiments today, I haven't observed any, and I'm a little concerned. The storage usage and quota for a shared drive *is* visible for an end user, if they open up the "info" side bar and look in the "Details" tab. ...

Hi all, Like many of you, Reed fell into the practice of simply suspending Google accounts for departed faculty, staff, and students. And of course we're living in a world where storage in Workspace is no longer "unlimited". The upshot is that we have thousands of suspended accounts that we need to delete ...

Hi all, It appears that quota support for Shared Drives still doesn't exist. How are organizations supposed to operate with the new shared storage pools without having any control over storage usage in Shared Drives? What am I missing? Oh, that's an interesting one. I read the support page that you linked, it's a little unclear if use of "App Passwords" will be impacted, does anyone here have a sense about that? We make use of Gmail's spam filtering for some of our more spam heavy support ticket queues, which involves setting up the ...
