Jake nailed it earlier. One of the takeaways I learned working with AP replacements was the need to check on the antenna gain differences. AP 515 = Max gain of all elements 3.8 dBm (2.4GHz) / 4.6 dBm (5 GHz) https://www.arubanetworks.com/products/wireless/access-points/indoor-access-points/510-series/ ...

Travis, We migrated our external DNS to AWS Route 53 about 5 years ago and have loved it. It has been cost effective and gets a big thumbs-up from our team from a UI perspective. Brian, I've seen weird behavior like that with other client-type devices (drop behavior specifically). You may want to set up user-debug for all of their mac addresses on the controller, then scrutinize the logs to see what is going on. Aruba support can help you set this up and assist in finding the ...

We're running that same code here and aren't seeing those symptoms. If you have Clearpass in your environment, it would be interesting to see the logs on a session from one of those disconnects. Otherwise, maybe set up a test system that you can replicate the issue with and get the debug logs set up ...

I don't have any 565s yet at our institution. That being said, I've ran into some problems with outdoor APs (375s and 377s) that you may want to consider: 1) Are you sure the power it is getting is good? I've had enough POE+ available, but had a situation where the AP wasn't pulling enough. I believe ...

We at minimum do annual firmware updates on our switches and get them to the latest maintenance release as suggested by Extreme. Severe security vulnerabilities and major bug fix issues are remediated as they are discovered and are planned appropriately (it is rare that we're in a position to upgrade ...

The first option has to do with how the reports are collected and how much they entail. The default option is beacon-table which makes good sense to my thinking. In my environment, I want 802.11k helping our wireless clients on our wireless APs. Since that method provides the clients with a list of SSIDs ...

Brian, We're utilizing Clearpass as well and this sounds like it could be the same issue we ran into with some HP printers. The printers basically wouldn't generate enough traffic to keep the device listed in the FDB of our switches (Extreme in our case so the solution in your switches may be different). ...

In the past, we've done specific / hidden SSIDs with good success for one off solutions like this and it has worked well. We're an Aruba shop and currently have great luck leveraging Clearpass to authenticate things like this on a regular SSID bypassing the 802.1x using the fingerprinting / custom attribute ...
