We have been trying to figure out how to ban Otter.ai from Zoom meetings for a few weeks now. After receiving some complaints from staff, we deemed that the way it operates - recording confidential meetings without consent - is a violation of our acceptable use policy and California Penal Code. Disallowing ...

It may change a little as our storage quotas go into effect in January.https://portal.cca.edu/policies/technology/google-workspace-data-retention-policy/ Michelle-- MICHELLE ...

Good question. We are a Mac school, and stopped purchasing the 3-year AppleCare a few years ago. I found we rarely used it, so moved to a self-insured model. I moved the budget that I would have spent on AppleCare into an Equipment Repairs budget, and so far, I've spent way less of this on repairs than ...

We recently migrated from EMS to CourseDog, and our Academic Affairs office who uses it for course scheduling and event management has been very happy with it. It's a very modern platform with a smart "optimizer" that really streamlines the scheduling process. We partnered with them to build a new integration ...

CCA has been using Teamwork Desk for several years, initially just within Technology Services, and have been very happy with it. They continually innovate their product, are very responsive to support requests, and are priced competitively. We use it in conjunction with Teamwork Projects, which works ...

Hi all, Following up on the excellent "Removing Local Admin Rights" thread, which I found especially helpful, I have a related but different question. This year, renewal of our cybersecurity insurance required us to rapidly implement several changes that have frustrated our community. I am hoping to ...

Hi Ken, We dealt with this recently, when we launched Workday Student as our SIS. We have a high percentage of international students, and were pleased to finally allow students who only had a first name in accordance with their countries' standards, to have their names represented accurately in our ...

We use Workday's recruiting module, and it works well for us for both internal job posting (e.g. work study) as well as external posting. Being fully integrated with our HCM system, it will also generate an offer letter that the candidate can electronically sign through the jobs portal, which then kicks ...

Hi Allan, We implemented Scoop (https://www.takescoop.com/solutions/desk-management) last Fall, and it's worked well for us. They have a well-done Workday integration out of the box, and are releasing a Google Calendar and Slack integration later this month. They've been really responsive to our needs ...
