I've been investigating migrating data from Google Workspace into another service, and I've seen several places that data transfer rates are throttled to 2.5 GB per person per day. I determined it would take around 170 years to transfer the data for my largest account into Office365. I wonder if ...

What about an OU that has external sharing in Drive disabled (not through a Trust rule, just through Drive settings)? Does anyone know if that will that break any existing external sharing thus making those previously externally shared files subject to the retention policy? Thanks, Jeremy ...

Would moving those users to an OU that has file sharing disabled make any difference? Would that break existing file sharing and allow the retention policy to purge the items? Thanks, Jeremy Pratt Sr. Collaboration Administrator, VUIT Collaboration Vanderbilt University 615.875.8831 | ...

Gregory, I've only tested it in my org, and didn't notice the empty subfolders remaining. We also have never had Shared Drives enabled as an org, so I can't speak to purging those. Sorry I don't have anything to add on those questions. I did find this in the documentation that confirms the delay ...

I just tested it and I can confirm I also see what Maggie sees. I can get to the "add a payment method" and enter a card number, but when I try to save it, I see this message: Your Google account isn't authorized to use Google Payments. Please contact your organization's Google Workspace or Cloud ...

Dante, You can also delete Drive data using a retention policy set up in Google Vault. Go to Retention, then Custom Rules, then set up a rule on the Drive service to purge all items one day after creation. I recommend applying the rule to an OU, so if you have a user you need purged, you move ...

I've had this issue. It's very inconvenient. I've had to open a brand new ticket before on our test domain, after weeks of troubleshooting in production, because of this problem. Now, I've learned my lesson. If the problem can be replicated in the test domain, I open the ticket on that one. I know ...

That was my question in the meeting. The other suggestion that was offered is what we've decided to go with as an organization. We've set up a custom compliance rule that only applies to one OU, to automatically purge all data more than 1 day old in the Drive for each member of that OU. The procedure ...

The last estimate I heard was in December when they said it would be the first half of 2022, so I assume that means sometime before July 1. Thanks, Jeremy Pratt Collaboration Administrator, VUIT Collaboration Vanderbilt University 615.875.8831 | jeremy.pratt@vanderbilt.edu | https:// ...

Meredith, From the article you posted: "Organizations with paid Google Workspace accounts won't be forced into 2FA; that's something for admins to decide." I haven't seen anything to indicate that a forced change is coming for Workspace accounts. Thanks, Jeremy Pratt | Hosting Services ...

Hello, Carol. From what I understand about Google Workspace and Drive, if you disable the drive service for a user who has data in drive, the data remains on the back-end, the user simply can't access it. So I don't think that solution will fix a storage limit issue for your entire tenant. Someone ...
