We have a Tech and Pedagogy Bootcamp every Fall. Ours is held the week before classes and targets both new faculty and current. Here is a past agenda if that is useful: https://www.xavier.edu/cte/workshops-events/fall2023bootcamp We've done a variety of formats – in person multi-track, remote single ...

We don't have a cart for ours as they are checked out individually but we do have Bretford carts for laptops. They're built for indoor use so they may not travel as well between buildings. Ours also include power for charging so may be overpriced for your needs. Similar to this model but ours are enclosed: ...

Windows recently released/acquired a new video editor for Win10 and Win11 called Clipchamp – may be worth checking out. Similar to iMovie in terms of functionality, and it does allow webcam recordings as well as adding floating text superimposed over the video in a variety of styles. It does require ...

The ATEM Mini is a pretty popular item for uses like this. We don't use one for streaming, but it can certainly handle 3 cameras or other inputs of your choosing as long as they all support HDMI output. -------- PAUL WEBER (He, Him, His) Manager, Digital Media Services weberp@xavier.edu T ...

Not for tutoring but we have previously used Skedda (most recently) and Calendly for recording studio reservations. Both allow limits on reservations, or did when we used them, but we hit the limit on spaces/resources/calendars under the free accounts and started using LibCal instead because our library ...

Ditto to Rick, additionally we use Blue microphones – may be worth looking at a Snowball ($50-70) for a single speaker or Yeti ($100) for multiple speakers. A pop-filter for each mic is a good $7 investment too. -------- PAUL WEBER (He, Him, His) Manager, Digital Media Services weberp@xavier.edu ...

I'd do your own research or contact your legal team to see if South Dakota is single party consent or not for recording. If they are then no announcement to the class is necessary. We are single party consent here and would not recommend that faculty out students with ADA accommodations by making announcements ...

Not for testing, but we do use LibCal currently and have used Skedda in the past. Microsoft Bookings may also be worth looking at if you are a Microsoft campus None have an option that I am aware of to push the request to a specific user for approval though. They do have lead time settings to avoid ...

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the tool (editing, hosting, interacting, etc.), but we have had interest around Thinglink for hosting and tagging. -------- PAUL WEBER (He, Him, His) Manager, Digital Media Services weberp@xavier.edu T 513-745-3682 Schedule a Meeting or Consultation ...

We're in an RFP ourselves and I'm very interested hearing about your workflow – thanks for sharing! Does anyone else have a "better" (less contact, more integrated, etc.) workflow with a different caption provider or video platform? We currently use VidGrid and a big benefit has been they provide ...

Andy I like the idea of delivering the files via download, but have there been any privacy/retention concerns? What about a recording indicator or visual duration/clock like the original One Button Studio has? Those are the biggest concerns I had with switching away from the Penn State UI. -------- ...

We had some stutter/lag as well and for us it was tied to GPU limitations using an i7 APU. It can also be impacted by filters in OBS, but that's easier to identify I think. To solve for the tally we use One Button Studio on a large reference monitor – the UI is much easier to comprehend and read for ...

9-11am EST is best for me during summer, the space is not open to the campus public until 11am. I can block out time later in the day in case you didn't really mean that early – I just need to know in advance as we do have some faculty users creating course content over summer. Maybe we can connect and ...

Generally the issue with offering editing support has been the lack of overlap in technical skills (which we have) and content expertise (which they have). It has usually ...
