Ha, I love blackboard's scale vs our own. We've done a few thousand AI course content generation tasks since August. I wasn't impressed with their discussion tasks they wrote in that demo. "write 150 words and include a video/image." seemed to be the norm which makes for more mundane/repetitive discussions. ...

I found a couple of points that the AI summary missed: Next, 345 respondents selected (with the option to select all that apply) or wrote in a range of options when asked what the benefits of AI adopting AI are, with the top five being teaching critical digital skills (65%), learner engagement (63%), ...

THAT was extremely useful framing. I hadn't seen the whole process laid out like that in succinct manner with effort in time attached. Thank you for that, I've shared that with my team. We're trying to figure out the parts of this process that ChatGPT can have a positive impact to either help reinforce/implement ...

Shameless self promotion (but hey, I'm excited), we're using it to help Instructional Designers and Instructors write their class discussion prompts. So guess it depends on if you consider the IDs to be administration or if you were drawing a line between CTL and Admin. https://harmonizelearning.com/product-chatgpt/ ...

Thanks Brandon, those were great resources! That also led me over to the digital taxonomy site that ASU has. Since we're getting ChatGPT to generate the response and are purely in the digital discussion world, I think we'll take a first pass where we leverage some of all of these and the digital bloom's ...

Thanks so much everyone! I realize i didn't clarify this in the initial context, but we're using ChatGPT to handle the actual generation of the prompt. All we're trying to get from the instructor is which bloom's level and perhaps some learning outcomes to help structure around the subject matter they ...

(cross posting from the ID community) Hi all! Some context: We're building a discussion prompt writer into Harmonize based on Bloom's Taxonomy Revised. It's intended to be used by IDs and Instructors when an ID isn't available. When an ID is using the tool, they pick the right taxonomy level for ...

One of the questions that comes up often as people talk to us about our Chatgpt integration is what happens with that data. Chatgpt, when you're using their API, has a policy to not use the data you submit for anything other than debugging and to only keep it for 30-60 days. So it's not contributing ...

Heather - You know my take/bias on this, but a bullet point highlighting where ChatGPT could actually be helping education vs a pure focus on policy and detecting it would be amazing! Assuming somebody other than us is actually trying to do positive things with it. ;) Marcus PopetzCEO/Founder htt ...

I don't have direct experience in this, but I have a friend who is a brilliant pediatric heart surgeon who is working on tech to help his surgeons MRI image a real heart and then examine it in VR so their likelihood of success goes way up when performing the surgery. They've spun it out into this company; ...

We've custom built software for schools to handle this before. It was standard to have a simple/concise bulleted list of program level objectives (PLOs) like this: MFA Advertising Degree Write words good Learn about paid advertising strategy in social media. etc. Then each Course had Course Level Objectives ...

Shameless self promotion for our collaboration tools (I need a acronym that people recognize for an owner being proud of the tool their team builds so wanting to brag about it: OPOTTBSBAI? ) : For the instructor and student uploaded/recorded videos in the discussion forums, we auto-caption them. Let me +1 the video as well. We allow video recording directly in the discussion in our software and instructors report that type of feedback both from instructor to student, but also student to peers does wonders for the class developing a sense of community. I was speaking to an instructor who mandates ...

That's a nice resource! I'm wondering how people are handling this part: "monitoring the student's academic engagement" We (Harmonize) just launched a tool to monitor engagement in our online discussions tool using an AI engine to detect when the student is engaging below their peers and then notifying ...
