Hello. I'd check the Investigation Tool--specifically Gmail Log Events--to confirm how they were deleted. Assuming there are no retention rules purging trash sooner, it's likely a third-party email application is doing the perm. deletion (e.g. Apple Mail, iOS Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.).
