Hi Tariq WNCD spikes up to 99% but only briefly, that is probably why no client impact. WNCMGRD sits permanently at 99% I am guessing that is normal? Yep, no mobility between aireos and 9800 on one campus. We have kept it running on the other campus for now as we haven't encountered it there. We ...

Hi Tariq We are on 17.9.3 (with mDNS disabled) and seeing WNCD spikes even with APs well below 250. I hadn't heard of any client connectivity issues. Not on topic, but I've noticed some users running Fing getting excluded due to ARP limits. We've had IRCM issues at one site so deliberate broke ...

Hi Jeff, Did you manage to track this down? All I can suggest is looking into setting up a radioactive trace on the 9800s, which, speaking from experience, is an annoyingly slow process for those random/intermittent problems. But first try "show logging profile wireless | i " to see if you find something ...

Not the same, but we have a problem with a handful of Alcatel phones no longer accepting PoE after any kind of outage, for example, every time we do a mass code upgrade or switch replacement. We have been told is to do with aging capacitors.

This reddit post sums up the CPU/Memory issues pretty good, ha! https://www.reddit.com/r/Cisco/comments/10h1tld/how_is_smart_licensing_still_such_a_mess/ The two bug IDs to check out are https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCwa85199 and https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug ...

Sorry for the spam. Just in case someone following, the WLAN ACLs are indeed blocking multicast but just not mDNS, which requires that drop mode.

Silly me. I didn't see this option before, mdns mode: drop. That is working. It would be good if I could block other multicast addresses though.

Hi Looking for advice on multicast filtering on the Cisco 9800. The AireOS controllers had Peer-to-Peer blocking ACL which we used to block particular multicast addresses, but I can't find an equivalent way to do it on the IOS-XE controllers. One of the multicast addresses we used to block was ...

Oops. Yes, that is already out, mass upgrade here I come. I got confused with the 9800 code that I am waiting on 17.9.3.

I spoke too soon. We got hit with the smart licensing memory leaks on 17.6.4. We will be testing 17.6.5 as soon as soon as it is out.

Hi Lee We have been running 17.06.04 on 9300/9400/9500 for over two months now. Other than two undocumented stack bugs everything has been fine. The first bug we noticed is that it seems if you remove/insert a member from the stack (either physically OR reload slot X), when that member rejoins, at ...
