No, it's not possible to customize that message. We send a separate message after creating the account. There's also this in GAMADV, but it's not exactly what you asked for: https://github.com/taers232c/GAMADV-XTD3/wiki/Send-Email#send-an-email-to-notify-a-person-of-their-new-google-workspace-account ...

Same here-I'm now seeing just a 31-user delta between the admin directory API and the reports API, and I'm very confident that those are accounts that were created in the past couple of days. Thanks to all who chimed in and who opened tickets with Google about this! This is a comparatively really quick ...

For those following along, here's the quick way to see if you're affected (assuming you're using GAM on Linux, not Windows): $ gam print users | wc -l; gam report users | wc -l And here's what you'll see as a result. As you can see, the first bolded number (from gam print users) is quite a lot different ...

Hi all: Apologies to those who will see this message more than once, but I thought it was worth sharing broadly: There's currently a bug in the Reporting API, /admin/reports/v1/usage/users/all, that causes it to skip users, seemingly at random. This is the API that is used by tools like GAM to report ...

Hi all: I'm pretty sure this has been asked before*, but for those that are using tools like rclone, DryvIQ, Globus, Nasuni, etc. to get files out of Drive, what are you generally seeing in terms of real-world TB/day that can be reasonably expected to get out of Drive given the Drive API limitations? ...

Thanks all, much appreciated. Seems like the best approach might be the one suggested by my colleague Jeffrey, to put this behind a Google Form that makes people acknowledge that their developer profile will go away when they leave the university (as that seems like the only real downside of enabling ...

Hi all: We're getting asked to turn on the "Google Developers" additional Google service for some of our users (see screenshot below). Anyone know where I can find a list of what that actually does/what additional services/access/capabilities it includes? I'm trying to get a sense of what the potential ...

FWIW, there was a decently-long thread about the VMWare changes over on the CIO list a week or two ago. Check out https://connect.educause.edu/discussion/vmware-price-increase#bmb3b8ab90-98ec-4f08-a657-6db8f1246203 Cheers, Ian

I'm not a CIO (nor even close) but this thread is just begging for me to promote my colleague Nick Young's (of UNC Greensboro) series of "Dear Vendor" blog posts, based on the experiences of many of us in architect and advisory board member positions over the years. I think they echo and expand on many ...

Unfortunately, many of those will still get through-it's sort of a game of whack-a-mole, honestly, and takes a good bit of staff time writing up new rules/regexes to block them. Sigh.

We turned it on for the majority (~55,000) of our users a year or so ago. No one has yet noticed that there's a slight delay in delivery. Or at least no one has yet opened a ticket to complain about it..... Cheers,

Hi all: Check out https://risedigital.tech/blog/google-shared-drive-migration-errors-hidden-files-unmovable for a really interesting blog post about a subtle issue that can cause My Drive to Shared Drive migrations to go sideways. It was just published a few minutes ago. Well worth a read if you’re ...

Thanks Madi! Much appreciated. So it sounds like the experience is the same for collaborators if an owner is over quota, regardless of what that quota is. Thinking about it, that makes total sense. Doh! (But I should listen to my own advice in terms of there being no such thing as a stupid question....) ...

Hi Ryan: As some background, unfortunately, that bug is one of the biggest downsides of using Drive Trust rules to hide files. I, and many others, have made the point to Google that this is a pretty serious bug related to Drive Trust rules, not just for the purposes many of us are using it for, but ...

Hi all: The subject really says it all. I know at least some universities are setting expired file/folder owners to zero quota as part of your draw-down process. I’m looking into whether something like that will fit into our plans too. Do any of you have any documentation that explains to the ...

Hi all: A little story: Many of you are probably familiar with CDW/Amplified's Gopher for Drive reporting product (https://amplifiedlabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500010675802-Gopher-for-Drive-Introduction). The other day, I was looking at the Gopher for Drive listing in the Google Workspace ...
